Post Mounjaro Weight Loss
Reaching your goal weight is a massive achievement, but for many of my clients in Basingstoke, the mirror reveals a new set of concerns. As the “fullness” of the skin disappears, the texture underneath can often appear thin, wrinkled, or “crepey,” and old stretch marks may suddenly seem more prominent than ever before.
In my clinic, I view this as the final chapter of your transformation. While weight loss medications like Mounjaro change your shape, laser technology is what refines the “canvas” of your skin.

Why does skin look “crepey” after weight loss?
Think of your skin like a balloon. When it has been inflated for a long time, the structural fibers (collagen and elastin) become overstretched. Once the “air” (fat) is removed, the skin doesn’t always have the elasticity to bounce back perfectly. Instead, it can appear fine and papery—often called “crepey” skin—particularly on the upper arms, abdomen, and thighs.
Stretch marks, which are essentially deep dermal scars from when the skin originally expanded, can also appear more indented or discolored once the surrounding tension is gone.
The Solution: Remodeling from Within
I use the Pico Laser to treat these textural issues because it is uniquely designed to “remodel” skin tissue without the harsh downtime of older CO2 lasers.
- Shattering Scar Tissue: For stretch marks, the Pico Laser sends ultra-fast pulses that shatter the rigid, fibrous tissue of the mark itself. This allows the skin to finally begin a proper healing process.
- Neocollagenesis: This is a clinical term for the birth of new collagen. By creating tiny “optical breakdowns” deep in the dermis, I trigger your body to flood the area with fresh, thick collagen fibers. This “plumps” the crepey skin from underneath, making it feel smoother and more substantial.
- Colour Correction: If your stretch marks are still red or have turned a dark, stubborn brown, the laser targets that pigment specifically, helping the marks blend seamlessly into your natural skin tone.
All Skin Tones, One Goal
One of the reasons I am so passionate about using Pico technology at Elipsa is its safety profile. Because it uses pressure waves rather than excessive heat, it is a safe and highly effective option for all skin tones. Whether your skin is very fair or deeply melanated, we can work on improving texture without the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
Your Skin, Refined
You’ve done the hard work of losing weight. My role is to help you feel proud of the skin you’re in. Improving skin texture is a process that requires patience—as collagen takes time to grow—but the result is skin that feels stronger, smoother, and more like “you.”
